The breeding food program

During the breeding and moulting season the seed eating birds also require special breeding food in addition to the grain feed. Top-Vit breeding food contains amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements, of which grain feed contains hardly any or none at all.

Top-Vit  breeding food is available in various types:

Ø      Top-Vit complete – Contains Supramin, Bio Mineral, lecithin, silica, sea algae powder and herbs and insects in a mixture balanced to an optimum level

Ø      Top-Vit complete is rich in content and more economical than contemporary breeding food: Budgies, smaller parakeets, Canaries and exotic birds require a max. 1 kg per breeding pair from the beginning of breeding to the end of moulting.

Top-Vit breeding food is produced from top quality raw materials and maximum purity without the addition of additives, colouring and flavouring agents.

Top-Vit breeding food contains all essential amino acids, all vitamins, minerals and trace elements, which the bird needs for his health and thus for his reproduction. For moisture add the vegetable garden products to our dry types.

Health from the vegetable garden

The BIOTROPIC vegetable garden gives the opportunity to add moisture to the daily food of your pets in a tasty and healthy way.

Application: Allow one part GemüseMix (Vegetable mix), MöhrenGold (Golden Carrots) or RoteBeete (Red beets root) to swell for at least ten minutes with 5 - 6 parts water and mix it under the daily food. For dosage and duration of the application please see the instruction leaflet.

GemüseMix, MöhrenGold and RoteBeete are high-quality, pure natural products with the quality of foodstuffs, without colourings and without additives. Thanks to the gentle production method the valuable contents are maintained in full. GemüseMix, MöhrenGold and RoteBeete swell slightly still in the intestines and thus effect a mechanical cleaning and stimulation of the intestines. The active substances of the types of vegetables used make an important to ensuring your pets stay healthy.

GemüseMix (Vegetable mix) is made of fresh onions, garlic, oregano, celery and leek. Each of these types of vegetables supplies its own variety of vital elements:

Ø      Onion and oregano contain ethereal oils, which kill bacteria and thus keep the intestine clean

Ø      Garlic supplements the onion in its effect, stimulates the blood circulation and works naturally through its smell to prevent parasites.

A further tasty food supplement is the Zehn-Kräuter-Mix. (Ten Herb Mix) It contains ten different wild herbs, e.g. nettles, chickweed, knot weed and dandelion. The ethereal oils of the herbs support the digestion and thus contribute to ensuring that your pets stay healthy. Thanks to the fresh smell the Zehn-Kräuter-Mix represents a tasty valuable addition to the food.

Application: Add Zehn-Kräuter-Mix to the food daily as required.

Metabolism – The motor of life

The metabolism is absorption and use of all active substances taken in with the food. It guarantees the healthy cell structure and the purification of the body. If the metabolism does not function in an optimum manner, the organism becomes ill.

Sea algae powder

Ø      supplies the organism with important trace elements, above all with iodine, zinc, cobalt, manganese and selenium

Colouring agents

The bird must take in the carotenoid through the food, which are a part of his plumage colours. The various types of birds require different carotenoids. BIOTROPIC offers you four carotene products:

BIO-CC yellow is for yellow-based Canaries, carduelan finches and other yellow-based birds. BIO-CC yellow guarantees the even and intensive full colouring of these birds with the yellow pigments lutein and zeaxanthin.

BIO-CC red can be used for all red-based Canaries and carduelan finches. BIO-CC red guarantees the even and intensive full colouring of red-based birds with the red pigments betacarotene and canthaxanthin.

BIO-CC universal red can be used for Hummingbirds, Estrildid Finches, Flamingos among others types of birds with intensive colouring, which do not react at all or only with little success to the yellow and red pigments in BIO-CC yellow and BIO-CC red. BIO-CC universal red contains all important carotenoids from the range of food for the birds.

BIO-CC orange is especially for the colour feeding of type Canaries. It prevents the “burning effect” of the plumage as often seen with exclusive feeds of carotene red. BIO CC orange has a positive effect on the texture of the feathers of canary birds with larger feathers.              

When applied in the dosage it gives the desired warm orange tone, which especially accentuates the pedigree qualities of the corresponding English posture canary birds.

MultiVitamin liquid is for the optimum care of the birds. As a liquid preparation it is water soluble. It contains all important vitamins in a balanced mixture and tried and tested BIOTROPIC quality.

Compared with the large number of customary vitamin preparations the B-complex share is considerably higher than the share of fat soluble vitamins. This is more compatible for the bird’s organism.

The vital preparations for breeding birds

The requirements of a bird’s organism changes in the course of a year. To correspond with this the bird requires supplementary feeds of different compositions in the course of the year.

SUPRAMIN is a high-quality and highly concentrated protein-vitamin-trace element preparation in a powder form for the increased protein requirements in the active phases. The use of SUPRAMINE ensures the optimum supply of the bird with all essential amino acids.

SUPRAMIN contains all 13 vitamins, all important trace elements and all essential amino acids for birds in a balanced ratio to each other.

BIO-MINERAL is a physiologically highly effective mineral and trace element concentration. Minerals are essential and must be available in the right ratio to each other.

PROTAMIN contains among others all essential amino acids and many trace elements for birds, which birds require for sufficient protein supply in the passive phases.

PROTAVIT guarantees sufficient supply of vitamins for the bird in all passive phases as a multivitamin preparation with all 13 vitamins. PROTAVIT should principally be administered in combination with PROTAMIN and BIO-MINERAL.

Exclusive food for nectarivorous birds

Nectarivores make special demands on their food owing to their special method of nutrition. BIOTROPIC has developed balanced exclusive food for two groups of nectarivores:

Ø      BioNektar for Hummingbirds is an exclusive food for Hummingbirds, Sunbirds, Tanagers and other small nectarivorous birds. Its formula corresponds with the ingredients of the natural nectar. BioNektar for Hummingbirds contains all nutrients and fibers necessary for a healthy bird life.

Ø      BioNektar for Lories is an exclusive food for Lories, Lorikeets, Hanging Parrots and Swift Parrots.              
It is mixed in the customary manner with honey and water. Owing to its composition it can also be given dry.

BioNektar for Hummingbirds and BioNektar for Lories are composed according to the latest knowledge on nutrition. They do not contain any additives, any flavour and odour additives, but only that what the bird really needs. BioNektar for Hummingbirds and BioNektar for lories cover the normal basic requirements of vitamins and amino acids. In special situations (e.g. transport) we recommend adding BIOTROPIC – vital preparations SUPRAMINE or PROTAMINE.
